Gender Affirming Healthcare Letters

Letters for gender affirming care are a document that assess if a client is ready and able to provide informed consent for treatment. The World Professional Association for Transgender Health (WPATH), medical providers, and insurances often recommended or require letters to access certain gender affirming care.

Letters include a psychological assessment and explanation that the client meets criteria for surgery or hormone replacement therapy.

For more information about what services I offer for WPATH letters and commonly asked questions, and costs please go to the Letters page.

Intake session and more if needed, for assessment to acquire a gender-affirming care letter for surgery. I follow the WPATH Standards of Care 7 Guidelines. I offer sliding scale for these sessions to meet the need of the trans community and the gatekeeping our community faces to access care

Legal Forensic Mitigation Work

I offer forensic mitigation work for individuals facing criminal or misdemeanor charges in the State of Colorado. Together, we will create a mitigation report to tell your story to the court officials such as judge, district attorney, and other applicable parties. I work with individuals who are pending charges and are incarcerated or in the community, as well as post-conviction support to those in Department of Corrections. I have worked with a variety of clients, courts, jails, and lawyers since 2022 in the state of Colorado.

I approach this work through an abolitionist, anti-oppressive framework, as the harmful history of our criminal justice system cannot be ignored. It is my professional and personal belief that most people who end up involved with our country’s criminal justice system have faced some type of trauma, oppression, poverty, or other systemic/personal barriers that have led to being in need of legal mitigation work.

Fore more information about my services, approach, and rates for my legal mitigation work, refer to my Mitigation page and/or reach out to me using the contact form or maveryck@mlbsocialwork.com.
